Billing your Hilt plan

Billing is where a merchant manages their Hilt subscription. Open it when you want to:
  • confirm the current plan
  • see the next renewal date
  • review invoice history
  • update payment details
  • open the Stripe customer portal
  • cancel a paid Hilt subscription
  • change or upgrade the Hilt plan

What you will see on the page

The Billing page is built around a few simple answers:
  • which plan is active
  • when it renews
  • what the next amount is
  • how much Hilt has processed for the workspace so far
  • which invoices belong to the workspace
  • whether a Stripe customer record exists for portal access

Manage in Stripe

When the workspace has a Stripe customer record, Billing shows a Stripe portal action. Use the Stripe portal to:
  • update the card or payment method for the Hilt subscription
  • open hosted Stripe invoices
  • download invoice PDFs
  • cancel the Hilt subscription if you need to
If the workspace does not have a Stripe customer record yet, there is no Stripe portal to open. In that case, Billing still shows the available Hilt plans and checkout options.

What Billing changes and what it does not

Billing changes:
  • the merchant’s Hilt plan
  • the monthly platform fee
  • the transaction-fee economics
  • the support posture around the workspace
Billing does not remove access to the dashboard, API, CLI, or docs. Those public Hilt surfaces stay available across the plan ladder.

A practical way to use Billing

Most merchants only need Billing for three moments:
  1. when starting on a new Hilt plan
  2. when reviewing the next renewal
  3. when opening Stripe to update payment details, view invoices, cancel, or change plan level

Fees and take-home

The merchant dashboard also shows the commercial side of the workspace:
  • confirmed payment volume
  • estimated take-home
  • total Hilt fees across buyer payments
That gives the merchant one place to read both:
  • the business they are doing through Hilt
  • the plan they are paying Hilt for

Best habit

Check Billing when you want to review your Hilt subscription. Check Payments, Members, Receipts, and Support when you want to operate buyer activity.

Common questions

What does Hilt Billing manage?

Billing manages the merchant’s Hilt plan, renewal date, invoice history, payment details, cancellation path, and plan changes.

Does Billing control buyer payments?

No. Buyer payment activity is operated from Payments, Members, Receipts, and Support. Billing is for the merchant’s own Hilt subscription.

Why do I not see a Stripe portal button?

The Stripe portal appears only after the workspace has a Stripe customer record. If the workspace has never started a Stripe-backed paid Hilt plan, there is no Stripe portal session to create yet.

Do API, CLI, and docs disappear on lower plans?

No. API, CLI, dashboard, and docs access remain available across the plan ladder. Higher plans mainly change economics, support level, and operating comfort at volume.
